I'm totally looking for a new OS project to contribute to and stick with - I can't wait to see who's looking for help and has the bandwidth to help folks get acclimated and provide meaningful PRs!
I know Hacktoberfest has been kinda contested in the maintainer space for a few years, because of the strain it puts on lead developers to clear their issue lists of unworthy PRs submitted for the sake of getting a free t-shirt. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Hacktoberfest team does this year to honor and support maintainers in providing the space for new open source contributors to thrive!
